Central Road Resurfacing Project Update

Progress continues on the Illinois Department of Transportation Central Road resurfacing project. Pavement grinding is scheduled to begin the week of September 10, starting at Rand Road proceeding westward to Arlington Heights Road.

The paving operations to install the first layer of asphalt will start the following Monday, Sept. 17, again starting at Rand Road and proceeding westward to Arlington Heights Road. There will be a second paving operation to install the pavement surface that will be scheduled after the first layer.

With both of these phases, Central Road will remain open to traffic with at least one lane in each direction. Please note that the schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists should drive with caution, expect delays and consider alternate travel routes.

In a related project, the village is coordinating a street light project on Central Road between Mount Prospect Road and Emerson Street. The poles are scheduled to be installed starting the week of September 24.
