Mother and daughter duo art shows

Vaiju Saraf an accomplished canvas and stained glass mosaic artist and her daughter Anusha who is fifth-grader are showcasing their art in Chicagoland. This is a unique occasion of mother and daughter duo who will share their passion and talent with the local communities. This is an inspiring event to many young artists who would like persuade their artistic passions.

Vaiju's art: She began her art journey with canvas oil painting and then progressed to stained glass mosaic. Her artwork is full of innovative themes. She has a distinctive style of creating mosaics using stained glass, smalti, ceramic tiles, metal pieces, rocks, slate and even burnt wood! She enjoys creating art fusions blending art from different regions. The sky is the limit and she is always experimenting with different concepts and styles. She has recently started doing bold and vibrant art work. She worked with her daughter (Anusha Saraf) to develop her interest in different folk arts from the world. As a family, they love to travel and enjoy local art from different regions.

Anusha Saraf is a fifth grader at Half Day Elementary School in Lincolnshire, Chicago. She loves to sketch, paint and just about everything art! Anusha could draw from a young age and started by doing cartoons and flowers on birthday cards. Today she has come a long way! She makes colorful and creative motifs on ceramic mugs, kitchen linen, coasters, bags, ceramic plates and Christmas ornaments. Sometimes she draws from her own imagination and sometimes she derives inspiration from folk art.
