Multi-Talented Artist Creates with Spiritual Paasion

Tiffany Whisler, a veterinarian who lives in Mount Prospect, is not only passionate about her work, but is passionate about being creative, a gift she believes is God-given.

Whisler, who is a longtime artist with the Northwest Cultural Council, has her photography exhibited through Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Arlington Green Executive Center, 2101 S. Arlington Heights Rd. in Arlington Heights.

"Photography is a blessing, and God put the talent in me for a purpose, but I'm not completely sure what that purpose is," Whisler says. Nevertheless,

she believes she is responsible to work hard to develop her talent.

Whisler's photography runs the gamut of subjects including: nature and landscapes, architecture, sculpture, wildlife, pets, weddings, portraits, and even farm equipment. She has exhibited at various places including libraries, corporate buildings, hospitals, and at the American Veterinary Medical Association Art Gallery.

The artist is partly self-taught, having begun to take pictures as a child, in addition to having taken classes through continuing education departments of colleges.

While Whisler doesn't have time to do photography daily, she wants to work towards that goal. She particularly enjoys taking photos while vacationing with her family.

"One tip I have heard is to do something with photography for at least 15 minutes a days, whether it's just shooting, or thinking about the process and what you need to be cognizant of while you're shooting or editing," Whisler says."

She adds: "My advice to aspiring photographers would be to find like-minded people to be with and learn from-artists who inspire you, whether they're painters, sculptors, or photographers."

Whisler believes that anyone can take pictures, but to be a photographer "you need to develop your talent and be learning constantly."
