Girls volleyball: Grayslake Central 2nd at Ram Slam

Ram Slam: Grayslake Central hosted the Ram Slam that featured several area teams and was won by Wisconsin Lutheran.

Carmel placed second at the Ram Slam and Grayslake Central took fourth.

For the host Rams, who are now 8-6, Cassidy Beshel finished with a team-high 46 kills while Amber Moser had 30 kills and Eilsa Koshy had 27 kills.

Koshy, the setter, also rolled up 119 assists.

Kate Bullman led the defense with 21 blocks while Abby Marassa added 88 digs.

Grayslake North goes 3-2: Also at the Ram Slam, Grayslake North went 3-2, defeating Lake Park twice and Richmond-Burton.

Alyssa Grezel had 40 kills, Lexie Baker had 54 digs,

Jessica Pozezinski had 12 aces and setters Lindsey Diep and Abby Cunningham had 51 assists and 40 assists respectively.

Meanwhile, Wauconda beat Richmond-Burton in its last match at the Ram Slam to finish 1-4.

Erika Kraml led the Bulldogs with 22 kills and 36 digs.

Riley Aldrich had 42 assists for Wauconda, which is now 3-10 on the season.

New Trier Invite: Warren defeated Highland Park (25-17, 25-18) and Hamilton (25-13, 25-18) on Saturday to finish the tournament at New Trier 4-1.

Ella White had 51 kills while Dana Lundtveit and Ora Cohen added 34 kills and 19 kills respectively.

Setters Abby Berkowicz and Kayla Klemz rolled up the assists with 70 and 49 each.

Amanda Howe led the defense with 52 digs.

Scholten Classic: Mundelein went 3-2 at the Scholten Classic to place second in its pool and sixth overall.

Mundelein defeated Conant, Elk Grove and Lake Zurich.

The Mustangs got double-figure kills out of Alexis Naddy (19), Taylor Heath (17), Faith Krabbe (12), Brianna Martin (12), Isabella Cartland (11) and Gillian Paul (11).

Krabbe also had 32 assists while fellow setter Claudia Wilcox added 27 assists.
