Hear tunes among the trees during Concert at the Cabin

Listen to live music outdoors while enjoying a picnic at Schaumburg Park District's Spring Valley Nature Center.

Concert at the Cabin is set for 5 to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 8 at the Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. The Spring Valley Community Concert Band will perform at 6 p.m. under the shelter on the wooded grounds of Merkle Cabin.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Concertgoers also may bring their own picnics.

"Many communities across America have these bands," said Dave Brooks, manager of conservation services. "They put on a great performance of traditional concert band music that people of all ages enjoy."

Merkle Cabin is about a 10-minute walk from the Nature Center parking lot. A wagon shuttle also will be available. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Admission is free.
