Buffalo Grove Rotary Hosts Annual Duck Race Fundraiser on Sunday, September 2

The Buffalo Grove Rotary Club is hosting its annual Duck Race fundraiser on Sunday, September 2, 2018 during the six-day BG Days festival. The festival is hosted by the Village of Buffalo Grove at Mike Rylko Community Park, 951 McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove.

The fundraising effort is the largest one of the year for the Buffalo Grove Rotary, and enables the club to support a number of local and international charitable efforts. These include a foreign exchange program and academic scholarships for Buffalo Grove and Stevenson High School students, community grants for local organizations, holiday food baskets for in-need families, international clean water and polio eradication initiatives, and much more.

"We are racing toward our highest fundraising goal yet for the annual Buffalo Grove Rotary Duck Race, which helps us to do so much good for those in-need, both locally and globally," said Shannon O'Connor, co-chair of the Duck Race committee. "We invite the community to purchase ducks to help raise funds for these important efforts, and for our business community members to consider sponsoring this wonderful and engaging event!"

Ducks are on sale now at www.bgrotary.org. One 'Lucky Duck' can be purchased for $5, a 'Quack Pack' (six ducks) for $25 or a 'Flock of Ducks' (25) for $100. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first 13 Duck Race winners-the owner of the first place duck wins $1,500, second place wins $500, third place wins $250 and the final 10 ducks that waddle over the finish line win $100 each.

Corporate sponsors are also being sought to support this fundraiser. Please visit www.bgrotary.org for more information on how to become a Duck Race sponsor.

The Duck Race will kick off at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, and will be located near the carnival.

The Buffalo Grove Rotary Club would like to thank the following sponsors: Gold Corporate Sponsors Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. and Arthur J. Gallagher, and Silver Corporate Sponsors Cruise Planners, WRB, LLC, Waste Management and Vicarious Productions.
