Taste of Antioch begins
Food may be the main attraction but there's plenty more to the Antioch Taste of Summer. The fest kicked of Thursday and runs through Sunday, July, 22 on Orchard and Skidmore in downtown Antioch.
Guests can sample the fare of local restaurants and enjoy carnival rides, games and live entertainment, as well as crafts exhibitors and sidewalk sales throughout downtown Antioch.
The Taste continues 4 to 11 p.m. today, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a carnival running the same hours, except on Sunday when it stays open an extra hour, closing at 8 p.m.
The festival includes a Special Needs Carnival from 1 to 3 p.m. today. Up to four family members will receive complimentary wristbands. A caregiver age 18 or older must accompany special needs family members and place them on all rides.
Food booths scheduled to take part include Dairy Queen. Lodge of Antioch, Brat Shop, BBQ'd Productions, Citrus Smashers, Jerk N' More, Luke's of Mundelein, Tres Flores Funnel Cakes and El Barrio of Mundelein.
