Knights invited to return home for all-years reunion

Proud Knights from all graduating years of Prospect High School are invited to return to the school from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 15 for Knights Unite 2018, a first-ever all-classes reunion coinciding with the school's homecoming.

The event, hosted by the District 214 Alumni Council and Education Foundation in partnership with the school, mirrors similar, successful reunions staged in recent years at the former Arlington and Forest View high schools.

The Prospect event will included guided tours, memorabilia, yearbooks, a photo booth, videos on the school's history, Knight cookies, retro logo t-shirts and mugs for sale, copies of the award-winning school newspaper and more.

"Prospect is a place of pride, and we are excited to welcome back our alumni, show them how we have grown and changed, and give them plenty of time to reminisce," said Chris Cirrincione, who heads up the school's spirit group and also is a member of the District's Alumni Council. "We enthusiastically invite graduates from all years of our history to visit, celebrate and reconnect."

Attendees are encouraged to attend in their Knights gear, past or present.

The event is free, but registration is encouraged. To register, visit www.214foundation.org and select "Knights Unite 2018" on the left side tab.

Proceeds from the sale of shirts and mugs at the event will benefit the Education Foundation, which supports students and programs across High School District 214 beyond the limitations of conventional funding for public education.

Prospect opened in 1957 as the District's second school. It now is the District's oldest school, following Arlington's closing in 1984 amid declining enrollment. Through its history, Prospect has built a storied legacy of success in athletics, academics and the fine and performing arts. All will be on display at this event.

The planning committee includes Cirrincione; Tom Hayes, Prospect '74; Polly (Brothers) Knudsen, Prospect '67; and Frank Mirandola, Assistant Principal. The Alumni Council annually engages and reengages alumni through all-school reunion events and other activities and supports current District 214 students.
