Lemons of Love unveils Cancer Resource Center in Mount Prospect
Lemons of Love held an open house Saturday at its new headquarters and Cancer Resource Center at 406 W. Central Road in downtown Mount Prospect.
The center expands the mission of Lemons of Love by offering programming and support services to cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers - while providing space to continue the nonprofit's chemo care package program.
The building, newly renovated with the help of volunteers, will have a designated beauty and spa area so local hairdressers, massage therapists, or makeup artists can volunteer their time to pamper a patient for the day and to allow a private space for chemo head shavings. There also will be a project room where volunteers can help fill bags, take on a project donation, or create happy pictures for the care packages.
