The free celebration event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 1p.m. with a gala reception to follow the performances.

Community Fitness Center is celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2018. On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 6, community members are invited to participate in a free open house event, featuring health screenings, fitness assessments, membership offers, personal training discounts, giveaways, and more. While the open house will run from 9:00am until 12:00pm, some specials will be available throughout the day.

Save the date for Palatine Park District's popular Fall Festival at Palatine Stables when it returns on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11:00am-4:00pm. This free community event will feature pony rides, a petting zoo, wagon rides, make and take crafts, a craft and business fair, scarecrow decorating, outdoor games, and more.

Community Center will host the annual Halloween Party on Saturday, October 27 for children ages 1 to 10 years old and will include a jack-o-lantern gym with activities for the little ones, challenging carnival games for school-age children, a creative craft room, a glow dance party room, and ghoulish goodies for the whole family. New animal entertainment this year will be provided by JG's Reptile Road Show.

A separate registration date has been assigned this year for the North Pole Express train ride event. Resident registration will open at 8:30am on Wednesday, August 1. This popular event has sold out very quickly during the past several years.

Through an intergovernmental agreement signed in 2016, Harper College and Palatine Park District have entered into a partnership to provide recreational programming in the newly renovated Health and Recreation Center located at Building M on the Harper College Campus. The newly renovated indoor pool will offer lessons, lap swim, open swim, and a variety of aquatics programming. Additional recreational program options offered by the Park District will include fitness, dance, and sports.

For information on the District's various facilities, see pages 86-98. In addition to the three recreation centers, Palatine Park District offers opportunities at several specialty facilities such as Clayson House Museum & Library, Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, Palatine Hills Golf Course & Clubhouse, and Palatine Stables.

A household account is required to register for programs, memberships, and events online. Visit palatineparks.org and select "Create a Household" under the Register Online tab. Once the household has been submitted, staff will review and activate the new account. This process can take up to two business days. To ensure that your account is active when summer registration opens, it is recommended all new households be created by Thursday, July 19. Contact a Palatine Park District customer service representative at (847) 991-0333 with any questions.

Palatine Park District provides four ways to register: online, in person, by mail (checks only), and drop-off (checks only). Most programs are available for online registration at palatineparks.org. To register in person, visit Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Avenue in Palatine, Community Center, 250 E. Wood Street in Palatine, or Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road in Palatine. See pages 12-13 of the fall program catalog for further details.

The mission of Palatine Park District is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable, and affordable parks, programs, and recreational facilities that will enhance the quality of life by promoting good health and well-being for all residents and visitors while being fiscally responsible stewards of community assets and tax dollars.
