Get ready to yell DUCK! Dodgeball Days are back at Schaumburg Park District's Olympic Park.

The 19th Annual National Amateur Dodgeball Association (NADA) Dodgeball Days Outdoor National Championship celebrates one of the oldest and well-known playground games at Olympic Park, 1675 E. Old Schaumburg Road. The largest and final event for the 2017-2018 season features the crowning of the outdoor national champions.

The youth competition for grades 4-6 and 7-8 is set for July 13. Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m., with matches beginning at 10:30 a.m. Youth fee is $80 for a team of six to 10 players.

High school and adult competitions are set for July 14. Check-in begins at 9 a.m., with matches at 10 a.m. Adult fee is $125 for a team of six to 10 players. Men's, women's and co-rec divisions are available for adults.

"Great competition, a beautiful venue and the thrill of outdoor dodgeball combine to make Dodgeball Days an outstanding way to end the season," said Derek Radek, athletics supervisor for the District.

All players will receive a T-shirt and tournament champions will receive team prizes. A popular event for various suburban day camps, this NADA-sanctioned tournament draws teams locally and nationally.

Established by Schaumburg Park District, NADA was created as a recreational pursuit for non-traditional sport enthusiasts. Through the development of rules, equipment standards and tournament organization, NADA has made dodgeball safe and enjoyable.

Registration deadline is July 10. Registration forms are available at dodgeballusa.com.
