Who is discriminating?

Wayne Lela is to be congratulated for creating the Mr. Universe of Straw Men in his letter of June 29.

He states: "So the owner of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, asked Sarah Sanders to leave her restaurant because of her political views. Yet another outrageous example of liberal bigotry."

This is nonsense. Mrs. Sanders was, by her own admission, politely asked to leave the restaurant. The management made this request because the staff refused to serve her. This refusal was consistent with the values Mrs. Sanders espouses from her platform as minister of propaganda, i.e., what she does when she justifies refusing to serve members of the LGBTQ community under the Freedom of Religion clause of the Constitution.

He ignores the general discrimination against people for who they ARE, LGBTQ, and decries the "liberal bigots … believe it's OK to discriminate against and legally persecute businesses run by decent moral people who merely don't want to cater to homosexuals." Here he is offering discrimination as a virtue rather than recognizing it as the vile thing the discriminators (including Mrs. Sanders) DO.
