Rides, fireworks and more at Island Lake's Lakefest July 6-8

The village of Island Lake will hold its annual Lakefest Friday through Sunday, July 6-8, at the village's Water Tower Park.

Festival hours are 5-10 p.m. Friday, 1-10 p.m. Saturday, and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.

The festival features carnival rides, including some new rides, from Skinner's Carnival, with $20 wristbands available until 9 p.m. Friday and until 5 p.m. Saturday, and ride specials on Sunday.

The event also features food, a beer tent, live music, and games. A car show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. A fireworks show will take place on Saturday (rain date Sunday).

Water Tower Park is at 439 W. Route 176, Island Lake.
