Local Bloomingdale student awarded 'Student of the Month'

The nonprofit Cosmetologists Chicago - the largest association of salon professionals in the Midwest - is dedicated to honoring the hardworking cosmetology students, with a CC Student of the Month Award for excellent performance. This month, Bianca Douglas-Martin, student at Pivot Point Academy in Bloomingdale, has been recognized as an outstanding student. Before beginning beauty school, Bianca started a beauty brand, CONVÉ by Bianca J, to sell custom wigs, extensions, and hair services for application.

Dedicated to her commitment to help clients feel good about themselves, Bianca now travels 40 miles each way for her classes at Pivot Point, because of her dedication to honing her skills and becoming a licensed professional hair designer. She combines her passion, knowledge and very high GPA to have become one of the most requested students on the salon floor.

Bianca loves the self-confidence she's able to boost in people with her beauty skills, and especially enjoys teaching clients self-care tips so they can be successful when styling at their homes. Bianca's mother is one of her biggest inspirations, and Bianca was thrilled to have her together with her when she was awarded "Student of the Month." Bianca would love to someday own her own salon, and especially to work on movie sets, TV shows, and/or award shows.
