Chain O' Lakes joins Fox River with no-wake status
Due to high water levels from heavy rains in northern Illinois, the Chain O' Lakes Wednesday was given a no-wake status by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Fox Waterway Agency in Fox Lake.
No-wake means boats are not allowed to travel at speeds fast enough to create a wake behind the vessel.
With the change in status, the Fox River from the Wisconsin state line to the Algonquin dam is now declared to be under no-wake status.
