Welcome summer with End of School Campfire

Greet summer by gathering around a campfire, roasting marshmallows and taking a rustic wagon ride through the prairie.

End of School Campfire is set for 7:30 to 9 p.m., June 1, at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road.

Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Supplies for making s'mores will be available for purchase.

"This is a festive event to mark the end of the school year and usher in summer fun," said Dave Brooks, manager of conservation services. "It's also a great opportunity to get families out in nature."

Admission is $2 per person. Registration is not required.
