Officers take to Dunkin' Donuts Rooftops Friday

For the 16th year in a row, law enforcement personnel from across the state will stake out Dunkin' Donuts rooftops to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.

On Friday, May 18, police officers and other law enforcement personnel will volunteer at 296 Dunkin' Donuts locations from 5 a.m. to noon to help heighten awareness and raise funds as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Cop on a Rooftop event.

Everyone who visits a Cop on a Rooftop store and makes a donation will receive a free donut.

Individuals who donate $10 or more will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug (while supplies last) and a coupon for a free medium coffee.

Other items, such as Torch Run T-shirts and raffle tickets, will be available for purchase.

West Chicago police officers will be at the following West Chicago Dunkin Donut locations: 110 W. Roosevelt Road, 185 W. North Ave., and 330 S. Neltnor Blvd.

West Chicago Detective Robbi Peterson was honored this year for his dedication to Special Olympics Illinois by being featured with a Special Olympic athlete on the official 2018 poster distributed by the organization to promote this year's fundraisers, and on a video to raise greater awareness for the organization.
