New Mount Prospect battalion chief committed to safety

The Mount Prospect Fire Department has a new battalion chief of training, Tim Cassidy.

Fire Chief Brian Lambel said Cassidy's appointment culminated a search that began in November and involved combing through 46 applications.

Cassidy has 23 years of experience with the Northbrook Fire Department, where he was division chief of training. He also served as project coordinator of the Citizens Emergency Response Team.

"I'm humbled at all of your support," Cassidy said his swearing-in ceremony last week. "I'm committed to your survival - that will be my number one mission - and to the safety of firefighters and the citizens of this village."
