Boys volleyball: Barrington goes unbeaten in MSL West
Barrington's boys volleyball team wrapped up a perfect 10-0 finish in the Mid-Suburban West with a 25-15, 25-21 win against visiting Hoffman Estates on Tuesday.
Michael O'toole had team-bests of 8 digs and 9 kills, and Petar Lumovic contributed 6 kills and 2 blocks for the Broncos, who will meet Hersey in next week's MSL championship game.
Evan Carroll had 18 assists and 2 blocks, and Thomas Chapman and Hari Ramkrishnan had 4 digs apiece for Barrington.
James Swan paced Hoffman Estates with 5 kills on 14-for-17 hitting along with 5 digs and a service ace.
Buffalo Grove d. Prospect: The host Bison improved to 14-19 overall and completed their MSL East games with a 7-3 record after topping the Knights 25-19, 25-19.
Scott Mahon generated 12 assists on 32 setting attempts, and Brian Franz (10 kills) and Ethan Soifer (7 kills) led the attack while middle Lucas Ledgerwood contributed 4 kills and a block.
Palatine d. Fremd: The host Pirates completed their regular-season MSL slate with a tough 26-28, 25-15, 26-24 decision over the Vikings.
Leading the attack were Curtis McLenna (33-for-38 hitting, 19 kills) and Johnny O'Shea (25-for-30, 12 kills).
O'Shea also led the way with 21 digs, and McClennan was 14-for-15 serving with 2aces.
Fremd's Aaron Peterson had a team-best 12 kills and 6 digs in addition to a 25-for-30 effort on serve reception. Martin Michalski provided 7 kills and 5 digs along with a pair of aces, and Jacob Peterson was 79-for-79 setting with 31 assists.
Leyden d. Hinsdale South: Jason Kemp and Tom Radziszewski had 5 kills apiece to pace the visiting Eagles in a 25-19, 25-19 decision in West Suburban Gold action.
Robert Elem also had 4 kills as Leyden improved to 18-10 overall and 3-2 in the WSG.
