Boys volleyball: Stevenson, Mundelein pick up victories

Stevenson's boys volleyball team swept Grant 25-11, 25-16 on Thursday in nonconference play to move to 21-6 on the season.

Leo Chen led the Patriots with 6 kills while George Lie and Alex Bian each had 8 digs.

Setter Haddon Kay finished with 15 assists.

Mundelein d. Grayslake Central: Mundelein out-lasted Grayslake Central, 25-13, 24-26, 25-19.

Abram Nazario had 9 kills while Marc Rey had 8 kills and Martin Carrillo had 7 kills.

Setter Steven Miritello had 24 assists and Ben Arebalo led the defense with 32 digs.

Deerfield d. Vernon Hills: Deerfield swept Vernon Hills, 25-18, 25-19.

Krys Han and Derrick Jones each had 4 kills for Vernon Hills.

Jonathan Wallach and Sammy Adkisson had 9 assists and 7 digs each for Vernon Hills, which drops to 9-10 overall and 3-4 in the Central Suburban North.
