Police: Man faces another drunken driving charge

A Lisle man caught driving under the influence several times before has once again been arrested and charged with driving drunk, police say.

Matthew Kaval, 30, of the 5600 block of Abbey Drive, has been charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence in a third or subsequent offense, Lisle police said in a news release.

A police officer reported seeing a driver disobey a traffic light at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Burr Oak Road about 8:43 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

The officer stopped the vehicle and conducted an investigation, which determined Kaval had been driving while under the influence of alcohol, police said.

A review of Kaval's record showed his driver's license was revoked because of several previous convictions, police said.

Kaval also was charged with aggravated driving under the influence with a revoked driver's license and aggravated driving while his driver's license was revoked, police said.

He was in DuPage County jail awaiting a bond hearing.
