Authorities investigating fatal Fox Lake shooting

Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 72-year-old Fox Lake man Sunday afternoon in his home, officials said.

Fox Lake police arrived about 2:30 p.m. at a residence in the 100 block of Eagle Point Road and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a news release from the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Centegra Hospital - McHenry, where he was pronounced dead.

Fox Lake police requested the task force's assistance investigating the shooting, officials said. Authorities say there is no threat to the public.
