Here are the finalists for the week of April 23.
In April of 2017, colorful tulips bloom on a sunny afternoon at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL. I chose a low, backlit viewpoint in order to capture the light coming through the petals.

This picture was captured in Capitol Reef National Park in southern Utah in 2013. Rock work as beautiful as better know places like Arches National Park only without the crowds. We hiked in this park for three or four hours and only saw three other people.

These are Black Bellied Whistling Ducks. There were 9 ducks in Yorkville, IL in the spring of 2012. The colors of these males were so brilliant. They were very cooperative and I like the way the colors and clarity of the background is muted so all the glory goes to the subject at hand.
