Grayslake Central d. Lakes: Grayslake Central came back from a loss in the first set to defeat Lakes 16-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Austin Rockel led Lakes with 10 kills while Cameron Tonkery had 8 kills and Ethan Bond had 6 kills.

Setter Javier Ortiz rolled up 16 assists while Jameson Loeffler led the defense with 9 digs.

The Rams are now 7-9 overall and 4-1 in the Northern Lake County Conference.

For Lakes, which falls to 8-13 overall and 3-2 in the NLCC, Connor Clowers had 9 kills while Tyler Donovan had 16 assists and 4 digs. Ethan Metzelaar had 5 blocks.

Carmel d. Notre Dame: Carmel swept Notre Dame, 25-23, 25-22 to move to 12-4 on the season and 2-0 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.

Mike Scott and Jackson Ptasienski led the Corsairs with 11 and 10 kills respectively.

Setter Austin James had 31 assists and Shayne Henderson had 14 digs.

Vernon Hills d. Highland Park: Vernon Hills got back to over .500 with a 25-23, 25-14 sweep of Highland Park.

Vernon Hills is now 9-8 overall and 2-2 in the CSL North.

"We really struggled to pass serve early in the first set, but when we settled down a little, we were able to get our offense together and make a nice comeback," Vernon Hills coach Chris Curry said.

Setter Noah Proft had 13 assists, his best match of the season.

"He was steady, he made good decisions, and he as much as anybody sparked the turnaround," Curry said of Proft.

Drake DeBoer, with 9 kills, was the Cougars' most consistent force on offense. He had only 2 errors between hitting and serving.

"When that happens, we get a lot tougher," Curry said.

"Freshman Jack McDonald (3 aces) went on a 7 or 8-point service run in the second set where he placed everything perfectly. He was really tough to handle, and was steady in the serve receive."

Grant d. Antioch: Grant swept Antioch, 25-22, 25-18.

Junior Derek Kolb led the Bulldogs with 7 kills and 5 digs.

Junior Ian Fox added 5 kills and 3 blocks.

Grant is 2-3 in the Northern Lake County Conference.
