Boys volleyball: Lake County roundup

Leo Chen pounded 8 kills, and Stevenson's boys volleyball team remained undefeated in North Suburban Conference action by beating host Zion-Benton 25-23, 25-17 Wednesday night.

Matt Cliffer added 5 kills, Alex Bian served 4 aces, and Will Sorenson dished out 22 assists for the Patriots (17-4, 3-0).

Stevenson also got 4 kills from Gavin Meng, three apiece from Thomas Finn and Justin Ross, 15 digs from George Lie and 2 aces from Andrii Yerokhin.

Mundelein d. Waukegan: Marc Rey had 5 kills on 13-of-14 hitting and served an ace, as the host Mustangs won 25-19, 25-14 in North Suburban Conference action.

Eric Morales (17 of 18) and Abram Nazario (11 of 15) also had 5 kills apiece for Mundelein (10-10, 1-2). Tyler Vander Ploeg (7 of 7) and Martin Carrillo added 3 kills each, Ben Arebalo notched 17 digs, and Steven Miritello was 63-of-65 setting with 20 assists.
