Schaumburg Youth Choir to Host Vocal Audition Workshop

There's no getting around having to audition for placement into a choral program, whether it be for a college, an advanced school group, or an ensemble like the Schaumburg Youth Choir.

That's why the Schaumburg Youth Choir is hosting a Vocal Audition workshop on Sunday, April 22, from 4:15 pm - 5:30 pm at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, located at 201 Schaumburg Court in Schaumburg. The workshop is open to all students grades 8 and up (as of fall 2018), and admission is free. Registration is available at schaumburgyouthchoir.org.

The workshop, facilitated by Schaumburg Youth Choir Guest Director Tim Koll and Schaumburg Children's Chorus Director Erin Kozakis, will offer tips on song selection, sight-reading, vocal warm-ups, mental preparation, and methods that will help students maximize their abilities during an audition. The directors will also be available to answer questions you might have about getting into the program of your choice.

The Schaumburg Children's Chorus and Schaumburg Youth Choir are programs of the Village of Schaumburg. To learn more about the choral programs, please visit www.schaumburgyouthchoir.org.
