Boys volleyball: Schaumburg stops Fremd in two sets

Ryan Regier put down a match-high 8 kills and Dan Kaszuba was right behind with 7 to help lead Schaumburg's boys volleyball team to a 25-12, 25-16 Mid-Suburban West triumph over visiting Fremd on Friday night.

The Saxons, who raised their record to 6-3, also recorded 5 aces from Kaszuba while teammates Nathan Thomas had 14 assists and Brian Kirschbaum collected 6 digs.

The Vikings (2-1, 1-1) were led on attack by Aaron Peterson (6 kills), Martin Michalski (4) and Rocco Stella (3).

Jacob Peterson was 29-of-29 setting the offense with 10 assists while Aaron Peterson and Stella each had a block kill. Peterson also had 4 digs and Michael Arango 3.

Libertyville d. Barrington: Libertyville raised its record to 8-1 with the 25-23, 25-23 nonconference win. Brendan Cook put down 9 kills for the host Wildcats.
