Materials may have led to bridge collapse

My opinion of the collapse of the bridge in Miami is the use of round sandstone as aggregate in the concrete. Portland cement doesn't adhere to this stone.

My uncle and sons only used crushed limestone as aggregate.

As evidence of this, look at all the sidewalk crosswalks in Cicero. See his logo, Frank J Nejdl and Sons. These sidewalks were laid over 80 years ago. I myself helped form the wall in front of Morton High School in 1946, as well as many house foundations, garage floors and driveways.

Look around the Cook County area and you will see the failure with the use of round sandstone as aggregate.
