Score big with youth sports classes this spring

On guard! Learn how to fence, score a goal and hit the bullseye with youth sports classes at Schaumburg Park District.

Spring classes will take place April through May at The Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road, Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg Tennis Plus, 1416 N. Payne Road and Olympic Park, 1675 E. Old Schaumburg Road.

Children can learn the basics of hockey, soccer, lacrosse, fencing, archery and more.

"Our youth sports programs allow your little ones to make new friends, gain confidence and learn the basics of a variety of sports," said Karen Shannon, The Sport Center manager.

Each class will introduce fundamental rules and skills along with teamwork and sportsmanship through a combination of drills and play.

Sports classes include:

• Fun with Floor Hockey (ages 4-6)

• Kiddy Kickers Soccer (ages 4-9)

• Intro to Lacrosse (ages 7-12)

• Fencing (ages 8+)

• Archery: Beginner (ages 8+)
