Grab your blankets and get ready to head to Ravinia Festival this season.

Kristin Chenoweth is among a batch of newcomers making their debuts at the Highland Park venue this summer. Also new are rocker Bryan Adams, rapper 50 Cent, wordsmith Jason Mraz, country music duo Sugarland, Boy George, a night with Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling, Roger Daltrey performing "Tommy" and much more.

Ravinia's schedule - announced this week - also features favorites Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Matisyahu, Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Ben Folds, The B-52s, Los Lobos with Los Lonely Boys and more.

Ravinia's 2018 lineup offers more than 140 musical, comedy, dance and film events filling out the summer calendar.

Alan Cumming, Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Martin and Martin Short, Chris Thile and Joey Villagomez bring comedy performances to the Ravinia stage.

Ravinia also presents the Chicago-area debut of three dramatic works on stage. The Emerson String Quartet presents "Shostakovich and the Black Monk: A Russian Fantasy" (July 17), an exploration of one man's obsession with art. "Considering Matthew Shepard" (Sept. 12) marks the 20th anniversary of the death of the young gay man in Laramie, Wyoming. And the Los Angeles Master Chorale presents the a cappella production of "Lagrime di San Pietro" (Sept. 13), a reflection on Peter's denial of Jesus.

Hollywood steps up for the lineup with films screened with live orchestral performances of the scores, including Steven Spielberg's "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" (Aug. 1) and "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (Aug. 2) with music by John Williams, Hitchcock's "Vertigo" (Aug. 15) and "The Red Violin" (Aug. 21).
