Area Attorney Kerry Lavelle to Speak at National Legal Conference
Kerry Lavelle, founding partner of Lavelle Law in Schaumburg, has been tapped to participate on a panel at the ABA-GP Solo/GLSA 2018 Joint Spring Meeting in New Orleans in April. The annual legal education clinic hosted by the Group Legal Services Association will take place April 25-28.
Along with attorneys from Louisiana, Ohio and Colorado, Lavelle will participate in an April 27th panel, "How Simple Technology is Bridging the Access to Justice Gap". Led by attorney Nick Rishwain of LegalTechLIVE, the panel will discuss an array of access-to-justice issues, including the cost of legal services, awareness of pro bono services, time restraints of lawyers, technologies to improve access, and ways for attorneys to improve their ability to offer legal services to those in need.

In 2015, Lavelle Law was one of 13 law firms nationally to receive the Beacon of Justice Award for pro bono service from the National Legal Aid & Defender Association. Individually, for more than two decades Lavelle has served as a volunteer attorney for the Clinic for the Disabled and Elder Law.
