Applicants sought for Palatine, Hoffman Estates fire district board seats

The Palatine Township board is accepting resumes for open seats on two different fire protection district boards: Hoffman Estates Fire District #1, and the Palatine Rural Fire Protection District.

The terms of both appointments are three years, starting May 1 and expiring April 30, 2021.

The board of trustees for both fire protection districts consists of three board seats, and members meet once per month. Responsibilities include managing budgets, approving contracts and overseeing the administration of the department. The overall role of both boards is to supervise, control, regulate and manage the rural fire protection districts.

For the Hoffman Estates opening, applicants must be a resident of the fire district and live in the Windemere subdivision in South Barrington, which is the service area for District #1 and located in Palatine Township.

Applicants for the Palatine Township Rural Fire Protection District opening must reside within the borders of the fire district.

"Candidates who are willing to serve in this role and are passionate about their community are invited to apply for these openings," Palatine Township Supervisor Sharon Langlotz-Johnson said.

Resumes will be accepted until the close of business Monday, April 9, and should be emailed to Supervisor Langlotz-Johnson at sljohnson@palatinetownship-il.gov or dropped off at the Palatine Township administration desk, Attn: Supervisor Langlotz-Johnson, 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine.
