Schaumburg seeks nominees for Volunteer of the Year awards

Perhaps the noisy campaign season leading to the March 20 primary election is the best time to be reminded how much of society's work is done not by politicians and salaried staff, but by volunteers.

The village of Schaumburg is again seeking nominations of adults, students and organizations to recognize and honor at its 31st annual Volunteer of the Year Awards Luncheon, set for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Chandler's Chop House in Schaumburg.

Nominations, which are due April 2, can be made online at the village's website.

Junior high or high school students are eligible for the youth category. Everyone older is an adult.

For more information about the event or the nomination process, email Roxane Benvenuti at rbenvenuti@schaumburg.com or call (847) 923-3605.
