Park Ridge Community Women's Gift Cards Help Young Women Celebrate Life's Moments

The Park Ridge Community Women (PRCW) held a recent gift card donation drive for the young women receiving services through The Harbour, a social service agency for homeless youth in the North and Northwest suburbs of Illinois.

The gift cards will be used to celebrate birthdays, graduations, and other achieved milestones for The Harbour's clients as a progression of natural adolescent development.

"Our group was happy to provide the donation to the girls in order that they may gain joy not only during the holiday season, but throughout the upcoming year," said Jennifer Briggs, PRCW board member who delivered the donation to The Harbour.

"Our girls miss out on life's natural celebrations as they often come to The Harbour without family, unconditional love and support, and natural champions for their development, "said Kris Salyards, Executive Director, The Harbour.

"Donations such as this gift card drive allow us to provide those moments to memorialize the important things in life that our girls would otherwise miss," Salyards explained.

"Whether it is going out for dinner, buying their first work uniform or getting a birthday gift as a result of the donation, our youth directly benefit from the community's generosity," Salyards added.
