Enjoy Swedish dinner with children's choir March 3

Celebrate National Meatball Day Swedish style with a benefit dinner for the Swedish American Children's Choir from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St. in Batavia.

The dinner will feature Swedish meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, lingonberries, Swedish rye bread and dessert.

Also featured will be a Swedish gift items for purchase, Swedish and American baked goods for sale, Swedish antiques and a Swedish wood carver.

All proceeds from the event benefit the choir performance tour fund.

The choir, in its 19th year, is the largest of its kind in the Midwest and comprised of children ages 4 to 17 from the Fox Valley and surrounding suburbs.

The children's choir presents performances of Swedish songs and Scandinavian dances throughout the area and beyond.

Dinner tickets are by reservation only and carryout orders are available.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $6 for children ages 3 to 10, and those younger than age 3 are admitted free.
