Cook Memorial board to hire architect for library expansion

The Cook Memorial Public Library District board will meet Tuesday to approve a contract with an architectural firm for the proposed expansion of the Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills. Product Architecture + Design will be paid nearly $500,000 if hired for the job. A 15,000-square-foot addition to the library is planned, at an estimated $6.75 million cost. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Cook Park Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.
