Singing valentines offered by local men's chorus
Sending a card to your sweetheart or loved one for Valentine's Day is very thoughtful. Flowers, candy and balloons are nice, too. But if you wish to be unique, consider sending a singing valentine.
The Brotherhood of Harmony men's chorus, based in Schaumburg, will fill orders in the Western, Northwest and Northern suburbs by scheduling a quartet or small ensemble to surprise your favorite valentine.
The singing valentines will be available during the weekend prior to Valentine's Day, on Saturday, Feb. 10, and Sunday, Feb. 11, as well as Valentine's Day, during mutually convenient times.
Last year, a woman from Wheaton surprised her daughter-in-law, an elementary school teacher, with a singing valentine in her classroom, much to the delight of her students.
A husband surprised his wife at their favorite restaurant. A quartet sang for an elderly woman during her lunch meal at a Bloomingdale retirement center. Someone else ordered a singing valentine for her dad's birthday party in her home.
Prices are $40 for three love songs, a red rose and a valentine, or $55 to include a heart-shaped box of chocolates.
Orders may be placed by calling (708) 646-2051.
