Naperville's two other unsolved murders

July 7, 1972: Julie Ann Hanson was 15 and about to begin her junior year at Naperville North High School when she disappeared. Julie left home on her bike that day and wasn't seen alive again. She was abducted, raped and stabbed 36 times. Her body was discovered one day later in a cornfield near 87th Street and Modaff Road. Police never nabbed her killer, but a convicted murderer serving a 200-year prison term for a similar Will County slaying long has been the main suspect.

Oct. 20, 1996: An unidentified Hispanic man was found dead, shot in the back of the head, in a forested area across Ogden Avenue from the Stardust Motel. He was never identified and his killer never captured.

A year without answers: Aurora man's slaying in Naperville remains unsolved
