Lincolnshire Police Department earns National Night Out award

The Lincolnshire Police Department was recently announced as an award winner for the National Association of Town Watch's program National Night Out.

Each year, more than 16,000 communities nationwide participate in the National Night Out program. Lincolnshire placed 15th in its award category for a residential population between 5,000 and 15,000.

In 2017, Lincolnshire implemented new award programs associated with National Night Out, including an "honorary K-9" photo contest and a "Community Partner of the Year."

In addition, Lincolnshire gained new sponsorships from local businesses and garnered participation from businesses that assisted in past National Night Out events. Lincolnshire included familiar items from years past, including the Cruisin' with Cops cruise night at The Fresh Market, Flight-for-Life helicopter landing, bingo games, police dog demonstration, vehicle displays, and more.

New items for 2017 included a large inflatable waterslide, a water balloon toss competition, and a mobile escape room.

Each year the Lincolnshire Police Department takes away its successes of the program and continues to build its National Night Out into something special for its community. The 2018 National Night Out planning has already commenced and aims to be another award winning event.
