Introduce your youngster to the world of athletics with Schaumburg Park District winter sports classes.

Winter classes will take place January through March at The Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road; Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg; Tennis Plus, 1416 N. Payne Road; and Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way.

Children can learn the "Fastest Game on Two Feet," practice and improve their dribbling and footwork, or engage in a Nerf battle with friends.

"Our youth sports programs are a great way to introduce little ones to sports for the first time, or to help improve basic athletic skills like balance and hand-eye coordination," said Karen Shannon, The Sport Center manager.

Each class will introduce fundamental rules and skills along with teamwork and sportsmanship through a combination of drills and play.

Sports classes include:

• Fun with Floor Hockey (ages 5-8)

• Kiddy Kickers Soccer (ages 4-9)

• Half Pint Hoopsters (ages 4-9)

• Little Sluggers (ages 4-6)

• Intro to Lacrosse (ages 7-12)

• Nerf Battle Royal (ages 9-12
