New board welcomed at Chicago Dental Society; Dr. Louis Imburgia appointed president

With more than 30 years of experience practicing in Park Ridge, Dr. Louis Imburgia was sworn in as president of the Chicago Dental Society at a Nov. 12 ceremony at the Palmer House Hotel.

As president, Dr. Imburgia will oversee overall membership, and will start the new year focused on the 153rd Midwinter Meeting, Feb. 22-24, 2018, at the McCormick Place West.

The Midwinter Meeting is one of the largest exhibits of dental products and professional dentistry in North America - ranking among Chicago's top 20 conventions, and typically generating more than $29 million for the local economy (according to Choose Chicago).

The Chicago Dental Society was established in 1864, and with more than 4,400 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties, is the largest local society of the American Dental Association.

Dr. Imburgia graduated from the Loyola University School of Dentistry with clinical honors in periodontics. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and the Arcolian Dental Arts Society.

Dr. Imburgia currently volunteers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He and his wife, Rosemary, have three children Michelle, Anthony and Sean.
