The skinny: This will be the Blackhawks' first home game since they defeated Minnesota 4-1 on Dec. 17. They will play eight of their next nine at the United Center. ... Vegas beat the Hawks 4-2 to improve to 7-1-0 on Nov. 6. John Hayden and Patrick Kane scored for the Hawks, but Kane's goal came with just 65 seconds remaining. ... Kane has 7 goals and 6 assists in the last 10 games. He leads the Hawks with 40 points. Alex DeBrincat, Jonathan Toews and Nick Schmaltz are next with 26 each. ... Vegas had an eight-game winning streak snapped at St. Louis on Thursday. According to Elias, the Golden Knights were the first major North American pro franchise to win eight straight games in their first season since the Denver Nuggets did the same in 1976.
