Don't be fooled about dangers of sweeteners
The Dec. 18 Health & Fitness article that implied a little artificial sweetener is OK ignored research studies that indicate there is a risk of a chemical addiction to aspartame (Equal).
The chemical addiction may increase the risk for stroke, brain tumors and Alzheimer's.
Splenda (sucralose) works differently because it is not absorbed into the body, but destroys the good gut bacteria that keep us healthy.
Check out the video called "Sweet Misery" by a Washington lawyer. Check out the book by Dr. Baylock called "Excitoxins. Check out the website by Dr. Martini.
All will explain in detail the fact that aspartame should never have been approved for human consumption.
Splenda is in the same category because it is in 10,000 or more food products and is contributing to GI inflammation and distress that so many Americans are experiencing.
The New York Times reported that President Donald Trump drinks 10 to 20 diet drinks per day. If it is true, President Donald Trump is at great risk for a stroke, Alzheimer's or brain cancer. We can thank Donald Rumsfeld for creating this medical crisis when he called in his political markers to have aspartame approved by the FDA.
Our only option, since the FDA isn't protecting us is to read the food labels and reject any food product with an artificial sweetener.

President must be held accountable to the law
President Donald Trump has said, "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose voters."
Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller followed the money, and the trail of felons Papadapoulos and Flynn points at the White House. Does anyone not think that Trump will lash out and metaphorically gun down Mueller?
How important is it for the president to be subject to the rule of law? It is very important to our democracy and for the editors of the Daily Herald, to weigh in on this issue. To date, your silence has been deafening.
