Hypocrisy inherent in GOP's approach
Hypocrisy: a definition
In the 2014 election cycle, the Republican mantra was to stress the importance of cutting government spending and decrease the federal deficit. This was because the Republicans said they were concerned about the financial future of our children, our grandchildren and the country.
To increase the federal deficit would leave an unmanageable fiscal burden that would harm the country and rob future generations of financial stability. To that end, all requests from the Democratic president for spending were refused if the results would increase the deficit.
Now, in regard to the proposed "tax cut" giveaway, a plan that would cause at least a $1 trillion increase in the deficit, nary a peep has been heard from most of the Republicans regarding this fiscal disaster. Webster defines a hypocrite as "one who affects virtues or qualities that he does not have." This definition describes the current Republican Party perfectly.
