Lisle celebrates Once Upon A Christmas

The weather outside was hardly frightful Sunday as Lisle residents celebrated the second and final day of their Once Upon A Christmas festival that proved ideal for visiting with a live reindeer and Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Sponsored by the park district and Lisle Heritage Society, the two-day party at the Museums at Lisle Station Park was billed as old fashioned holiday fun - and it was that, even if the thought of snow and the North Pole seemed very far away.

Participants could go on hayrides, check out brick-oven baking and blacksmithing demonstrations, make crafts, listen to holiday music and view Christmas trees.

And, of course, they could share their wish lists with Santa and visit with a reindeer - all without bundling up against the cold or battling the snow.
