Donate a coat, help a veteran

A Wauconda nonprofit group is collecting coats for needy military veterans. STAR Charities' fifth annual coat drive runs through Jan. 21. Coats donated at spots throughout Wauconda will be donated to the Veterans R & R outreach and resource locker in Wauconda. Veterans R & R helps area veterans and their families. New and gently used coats made for men, women and children are needed. Collection boxes each year are located at Wauconda's American Legion hall, Middleton's on Main, Honey Hill Coffee Co. and other businesses.
