Despite setbacks, Trubisky glad to be a Bear
Rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky turned in the worst performance of his seven starts Sunday against the Eagles, finishing with a 38.3 passer rating.
He threw 2 interceptions after getting picked off just once in the previous five games. But he's still happy he's with the Bears.
"I had bad footwork in the game, and that usually leads to bad accuracy," he said. "Then timing - a lot of throws in the game are throws that I make and throw on time, but because of bad footwork and bad timing, it caused a couple throws to be off.
"It's just me and the receivers getting back on the same page, really grooving our timing, me getting my footwork down and just doing exactly what I'm coached to do. That'll make for better results this Sunday."
The Bears acquired Trubisky with the second overall pick in the draft after trading their No. 3 overall pick to the 49ers, along with third- and fourth-round picks this year and a third-rounder next year.
Asked how much contact he had with the 49ers leading up to Draft Day, Trubisky said: "A little bit. Had a dinner and workout with them. A lot of the teams were interested, but they kind of all went about it the same way."
Trubisky said he's glad things worked out the way they did.
"I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be," he said, "so I'm happy to be here in Chicago."

Wide receiver Tre McBride had a career day against the Saints in Week Eight, catching 3 passes for 92 yards.
He played a season-high 43 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and caught 2 passes for 20 yards on 6 targets.
Tuesday he was cut.
"Just kind of churning the roster," coach John Fox said. "We'll play some other guys. We get Josh Bellamy (concussion) back, who we missed last week. I think that's a big factor as well."
Fox was asked if McBride was one of the two wide receivers heard shouting at each other Monday afternoon, a verbal altercation so loud it was easily audible on the other side of the wall in the media work room.
"I don't know what's heard and what's not heard," Fox said. "I didn't hear it. That happens on the sideline, that happens in meetings, that happens all the time. That room is closer to y'all than I probably would have designed it. I think that's par for the course in football. That's not the first argument I've ever experienced."
Asked if McBride's release had anything to do with Monday's shenanigans, Fox said: "I don't get into that. That's stuff we do behind those walls. That's why those walls are there."

The Bears claimed outside linebacker Lamarr Houston Wednesday after he was waived by the Houston Texans.
Houston was a Bear from 2014-16, playing in 26 games and missing 22 when he suffered a tear to the same ACL in 2014 and '16. He had 8 sacks in 2015, the only year he was healthy for 16 games. He was originally signed by the Bears as an unrestricted free agent for $35 million over five years.
Houston played in five games this year for the Texans and had 6 tackles and 1 sack.
Injury report:
Linebacker Danny Trevathan (calf) returned to practice, on a limited basis, for the first time in a month.
Four other players were also limited: Guard Tom Compton (ankle), defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris, cornerback Bryce Callahan (knee) and linebacker Isaiah Irving (knee). Guard Josh Sitton (concussion), safety Adrian Amos (hamstring) and safety DeAndre Houston-Carson (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Wide receiver Josh Bellamy (concussion) was back as a full participant.
