Disappointed in seeming double standard
I am very disappointed in the Daily Herald. Your hypocrisy has left me speechless (fortunately I can still type).
In your Oct. 7 editorial, you proudly exclaim "You will not find the name of the Las Vegas shooter in this editorial… One more thing you won't see in the newspaper: a photo of the killer… We have no interest in helping to make him famous… We want no copycats… Every news organization has a responsibility to exercise that restraint. We urge them to do so."
Bravo! But after picking up your Nov. 21 newspaper, I must ask: What possessed you to print a color photo and an article, on your front page, in which you describe how effectively Charles Manson used his "mask of evil… to grow his legend… [which has] endured for nearly half a century"?
