Santa makes his entrance in Roselle
Say what you will about Santa, but you've got to give him this: The man knows how to make an entrance.
On Christmas Eve, of course, we all know he flies around the world in a sleigh pulled by eight tiny reindeer. But in the weeks leading up to his big night, he can be seen on trains or helicopters or, in the case of his Saturday afternoon arrival in Roselle, a fire truck.
The Big Guy's appearance helped mark the opening of the village's Celebrate the Season campaign and its second annual Cocoa Crawl.
The double-barreled festival included entertainment all afternoon in the Civic Plaza, roving carolers, the lighting of the Community Tree and more.
But the highlight, as always, was Santa's arrival at the library, accompanied not be a red-nosed reindeer, but rather a shiny red fire truck.
