Loose-Leaf Collection Program to End for the Season Week of Nov. 27

The Village of Mount Prospect's loose-leaf collection program will end for the season the week of Nov. 27. The Village had extended the program by two weeks this year to accommodate the late leaf drop. The program normally ends the Friday before Thanksgiving.

Public Works crews will make their final clean sweep of the Village starting on Monday, Nov. 27. The final loose leaf collection will take place on Friday, Dec. 1. The Monday area will have their last collection on the 27th. The last Tuesday collection will be on Nov. 28 and the last Wednesday collection will be Nov. 29. The Thursday and Friday areas will have their last collections on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, respectively.

After Friday, Dec. 1, leaves should not be placed in the street. Leaves should be placed in biodegradable kraft paper bags or a rigid container and set at the curb on your normal refuse collection day. The bagged leaf collection program will continue until December 15.

Residents' cooperation and patience is greatly appreciated. Please contact Public Works at 847-870-5640 or publicworksdept@mountprospect.org with questions or for additional information.
